Some Green Fins members have not been able to go through their annual assessment process due to the coronavirus outbreak. An inactive status does not mean they are not operational and we suggest you get in touch with the Green Fins member directly and ask if they are open for business. The Green Fins teams will be doing all they can to reassess members in their respective countries as soon as it is possible and safe to do so.

The Philippines is a natural destination for many thousands of today's divers due to its 7,107 islands and numerous reef systems. Green Fins has been present since 2010 and is strongly supported by the National Management Team comprising of the Coastal and Marine Division (CMD) under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Biodiversity Management Bureau (DENR-BMB).
There is an ever growing number of people joining Green Fins as todays customer demands serious elements of marine conservation from their SCUBA diving operator. It is shown that many tourists actively look for environmentally friendly diving centres and the Philippines is no exception.
Green Fins Philippines is supported by both the national Government and Local Government Units. The main point of contact is the Coastal and Marine Divsion (CMD) who oversee the development and expansion of the project in the Philippines. Workshops run by The Reef-World Foundation have helped pave the way forward with each Regional Department overseeing the development and introduction of Green Fins in their area helping to tackle local problems. The project is also supported by numerous NGO's including Save Philippine Seas, Marine Wildlife Watch of the Philippines, Batangas Community Divers, The El Nido Foundation and also academic partners including University of the Philippines - Marine Science Institue and San Carlos University.
